Product Description

Self-locking gas struts are spring-loaded matt black powder coated gas struts that can be used to provide counterbalance assistance, such as assisting a lid in its opening and closing motion. Common uses for this type of strut are in doors on vehicles, as hatches or tailgates, and in lids on tool boxes and cabinets.

The key feature of the self-locking gas strut is that the rod is able to move freely in one direction, allowing easy opening of a hatch or lid, but when placed under pressure in the opposite direction, the strut remains in position thanks to its locking mechanism, providing the support needed to safely and easily keep a door, lid, or hatch held closed without any further assistance or effort required.
